I-25 TRAFFIC SHIFT BETWEEN CANDELARIA ROAD AND MONTGOMERY BOULEVARD

As early as June 4, 2026, traffic on I-25 between Candelaria Road and south of Montgomery Boulevard will shift toward the center median for the next phase of construction.

  • Northbound I-25 traffic is scheduled to shift beginning the night of June 4 through June 5.

  • Southbound I-25 traffic is scheduled to shift beginning as early as the night of July 7. â€‹

Nighttime I-25 lane closures and ramp closures will be necessary during the traffic shifts, between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Travel lanes on I-25 will shift to the median to allow crews to perform work in the median. Once the shifts are complete, three lanes in each direction on I-25 will remain open during daytime hours between Comanche Road and Montgomery Boulevard.

The southbound Montgomery Boulevard on-ramp remains closed at this time while crews continue work in the area. Once the southbound Montgomery on-ramp reopens, crews are scheduled to begin work on the southbound Montgomery off-ramp as early as June 17, 2026.

Drivers should plan ahead, expect delays, follow posted signage, and use caution through the work zone. The speed limit remains reduced to 55 mph in the construction area.

TYPICAL OVERNIGHT RAMP CLOSURES

As construction progresses, drivers should anticipate overnight closures from 8 pm - 6 am of the northbound and southbound on and off-ramps at I-25 and Comanche Road. These closures are necessary to safely complete construction activities, and detours will be clearly marked. Please plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and follow posted signage.

TYPICAL OVERNIGHT I-25 LANE CLOSURES AS NEEDED

During the week, up to two travel lanes on I-25 could close at 8 p.m. each night and reopen by 6 a.m. each morning, in time for the morning commute. If this occurs, crews will close one lane at 8 p.m. and another lane at 10 p.m., keeping one lane open in each direction. All lanes will be reopened by 6 a.m. each morning.

During the weekend, travel lanes on I-25 could close at 10 p.m. each night and reopen by 9 a.m. each morning. If this occurs, crews will close one lane at 10 p.m. and another lane at 11 p.m., keeping one lane open in each direction. All lanes will be reopened by 9 a.m. each morning.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Lane closures on I-25, ramps, frontage roads, and Montgomery Boulevard will usually happen during off-peak times (outside of rush hours and on weekends).

Drivers can expect uneven pavement on the roadway and should use caution while traveling through the work zone.
